LEGO® Build the Change event, Copenhagen, Denmark: a challenging building event designed to help increase children’s awareness of sustainability issues, and to provide them with an opportunity to build their version of a more sustainable future using one million LEGO bricks.

The LEGO Group will build the experience center “The LEGO House” in Denmark. The building illustrates the systematic creativity of LEGO bricks and is expected to attract 250.000 visitors annually. The interior of the building has not been designed yet and will look very different from what can be seen in the video.

Technology and the online world it enables has created a new playground for children beginning as young as three years old. Children can now operate a smart phone or tablet before they can tell time, swim independently or make their own breakfast. These dymanics change the expectations that children have for their play experiences.
The accompanying infographic synthesizes seven key changes that have taken place over the past 15 years, as compiled by the Institute for the Future. Not only are these trends changing the way children play, they have changed the expectations that children place on any new experience and are setting the tone for what’s to come.
