The French competition authorities are at present examining the French toy market, of which LEGO France SAS is part, for potential violations of French competition law.
As a consequence of the case, the management of LEGO Company has instituted internal inquiries which have shown that internal guidelines have been violated during 2002 and the first part of 2003. Therefore, the management has decided already now to carry out sanctions with a few employees in the form of dismissal or warning.
A new manager of LEGO France has been appointed.
The conditions, which are subject to investigation by the authorities, were changed by the company before the investigation started.
Further to that, LECO Company has implemented a renewed training programme on competition compliance.
Since the beginning of the investigation, LEGO Company has given its full co-operation to the French authorities. A conclusion of the matter is expected no earlier than the second half of 2006.
