Following the release of the LEGO Hobby Train set built by train enthusiasts, LEGO has now launched a new product in the LEGO Factory Exclusive sets series. LEGO Market Street is part of the
new ‘Modular Houses’ theme section in LEGO Factory and is a building set with a broader appeal in theme and age than the Hobby Train set.
Now LEGO Factory enthusiasts get the opportunity to add a new dimension to their building with LEGO bricks. The new LEGO Market Street makes it possible to build your own town house and street. The Market Street set is a large town-themed set that features many impressive and surprising details. For a complete LEGO Modular House experience, users can build their own customized house modules using LEGO Digital Designer. The Market Street set can also be integrated with other modular buildings from LEGO like the Café Corner set to create a whole street.
“With over 1200 pieces, this new set is not only an impressive companion to the already released Café Corner. It is also the first LEGO set to use the new LEGO Factory theme called ‘Modular Houses’. This theme invites aspiring house designers to use the
LEGO Factory publishing platform to create and purchase own and other user’s house models”, says Tormod Askildsen, of LEGO Business Development.
A town worth visiting
The set is designed by adult LEGO fan, Eric Brok, from the Netherlands. A LEGO builder since childhood who rediscovered the joy of LEGO building and play as an adult about ten years ago. He was also one of the first LEGO Ambassadors. The Market Street house building style is inspired by the Dutch and Belgian house style. However, the set is made in such a way that many different architectural styles are possible to achieve – for example, the different roof options make it possible to go from a Dutch to an American style roof.
“The Market Street set reveals many features that make it an inspiring and fun experience. The details and the exclusive colour variation in the set make it very spectacular and all make the set come alive like a real town, buzzing with impressions. Even a box with fruits and vegetables is included in the set – the cabbage actually being a new green headpiece from the LEGO Exo-Force sets!” says Joseph Evangelista, a LEGO Factory enthusiast. One box – endless possibilities
The Market Street set is modular building, which means that the sections can be put together in many different ways. This gives fans the possibility to unleash their imagination and build either another house with a different design or, even, create a completely different theme. One LEGO fan, taking the Market Street set to a new level, even managed to build a carnival out of the bricks in the Market Street box.
